Administrative/Biographical History Note

The College of Southern Idaho was created in 1965 by the State of Idaho as the first Community College in the Southern Idaho region. It has served throughout its history as a pioneer of technological advancement, inclusiveness, and progressive education. There have been several attempts to record the history of the college, and Mark Wasden engaged his class in one of these. They produced a video entitled "The History of CSI Interviews".

Scope and Content Note

The video interview collection covers the history of the College of Southern Idaho as told by faculty and staff who were present at the college between 1965 and 2009. Perspectives come from multiple departments and age ranges. Interviewees discuss their teaching styles, their perspective on historical events, and their opinions on how the education system changed from the 1960s to the 2000s.

Provenance

These interviews were created by students of Mark Wasden in an effort to record the history of the College of Southern Idaho. Interviewes were Joel Bate, John Hurley, Lena Paxton, MaryJo Church, Rosemary Fornshell, Ansina Durham, Carolyn Turner, Cindy Bond, and Jan Mittleider. The video recordings were placed onto discs and deposited in the Archives between 2009 and 2016.
