Administrative/Biographical History NoteThe Shoshone Journal was created in 1884, after the cessation of its predecessor, the Southern Idaho Democrat. It was the first widespread newspaper in the city of Shoshone, Idaho. It was followed by the Lincoln County Journal, which picked up in 1931 and has continued until the present day. Scope and Content NoteThe Shoshone Journal and Lincoln County Journal Collection includes sixteen microfilm records of most of the printed issues of the Shoshone Journal and of the first three years of the Lincoln County Journal. The isues of this periodicals cover such as topics as agriculture, world events, and local events that reflect movements in the state of idaho and the Magic Valley region. Local politics are also prominently featured in these articles. RestrictionsItems in this collection do not circulate and may be used in-house only.
