Classical Music: CD & Streaming Music

IMSLP

The International Music Score Library Project (IMSLP) database holds the world's largest collection of public domain recordings and sheet music for classical, jazz, pop, and contemporary music. This free resource will be especially useful for music majors and others interested in obtaining sheet music and recordings to compare against one's own progress.

CD Collection

The Library has a collection of classical music on audio CDs. They are shelved for easy browsing in these categories:

  • Ballet
  • Baroque
  • Choral
  • Classical
  • Medieval
  • Opera
  • Renaissance
  • Sacred

You can look them up by composer, title, or period in the Library Catalog.

 

Streaming Music

The Library subscribes to a large online collection of classical music recordings and videos. Click here to go there.

You can look up classical music in two ways.

  • One is to type the name of the composer or performer you want in the box labeled "Search inside this discipline".
  • The other is to click the "Classical Music" tab, then select any of the links under "Search these categories" (Composers, Performers / Ensembles, Genres, etc.)
